Ghost Busters

So you want to be a Ghost Buster, it's understandable, Ghostbusters is the greatest film ever created and had a huge effect on modern culture, I still worry there might be a ghost in my fridge every time an egg frys itself on my kitchen worktop (there never is though)

There are many expensive pieces of equipment available for hunting and catching ghosts but excellent results can also be obtained using a few items that are found in every household.

The easiest way to detect a ghost is by using a digital camera, it has been proven that digital cameras capture light beyond the reaches of the simple human eye. Ghosts captured on camera usually take the form of "Orbs".

"Orbs" can usually be found in dark wet environments such as rainy cemeteries, abandoned mines, underground caverns and spooky cellars. Below are a couple of photos I took and captured "Orbs" I was frightened when I looked back at the photos and realised how close to the realm of the dead I had been standing.

To help you find where the ghosts are so you can photograph them or "bust" them you will need a ghost detector, below I will show you how to make an impressive ghost detector that if made correctly will accurately detect all ghosts!

What you will need: An empty jar, a balloon or similar stretchy rubber item, a piece of card, sellotape, scissors

First stretch the balloon over the top of the jar and fix it in place as tight as you can, take a few seconds to tap the top of the jar and pretend its a mini bongo drum

Cut two strips of card and stick to the top of the jar close to the middle

Decorate your jar to make it look more technical and scientific

If the surrounding area is free from ghosts the air temperature is normal and the card strips will stay stuck out flat

ghost!

When you are near a ghost the air becomes very cold and the air in the jar will contract sucking the balloon material in and making the card strips raise up

Now that you can detect ghosts you don't just want to photograph them, you want to destroy them or send them away to heaven/hell so they don't scare anyone anymore.

A simple vacuum cleaner is the easiest way to draw a ghost in to a distance where you can easily deal with it. Once its been sucked in, your priest partner (Ghost busting should never be done alone) can bless the spirit or banish it leaving the area free of pesky spooks.

Here's a simple step-by-step guide that you can print out and take on your first ghost busting job

1. Use your ghost detector to find the general area where the ghost is hiding

2. Wear a camera on your head taking photos at regular intervals and displaying them back so you can see where the ghosts are

2. Use the vacuum cleaner to suck the ghost in, as we all know ghosts can pass through objects so the vacuum won't contain it, but as it floats out all confused it is vulnerable to attack.

3. Have your priest partner bless/banish the spirit with a prayer and holy water
